#1 Star Wars Artist of All Times, Dave Dorman,
Featured in Non-Fiction Book on Comics-Turned-Movies
SHALIMAR, FL August 18, 2004 -- Internationally renowned, Eisner Award-winning Northwest Florida illustrator Dave Dorman, voted the #1 Star Wars Artist of All Times, was interviewed in a new non-fiction publication, "Comics Above Ground: How Sequential Art Affects Mainstream Media." The book, authored by Durwin S. Talon and distributed by TwoMorrows Publishing, features Dorman's opinions on comics-turned-movies as well as Dorman's famous illustrations for Alien, Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and his own project, The Wasted Lands.
Dorman just completed taping an interview for Turner Broadcast Network South's "Southern Living" program, where he announced that his Wasted Lands story, a post-apocalyptic motorcycle Western tale of good vs. evil with Sergio Leone visuals, is being developed into a major motion picture. Del Stone Jr., the Northwest Florida Daily News associate editor and a celebrated sci-fi and horror writer, is Dorman's writing partner on the Wasted Lands project.
